This is a good question. In my opinion, people who use the word God to describe themselves are just expressing their own personal feelings. That being said, I do not believe that God is a human being or living in a cloud. I do not have any idea why people feel the need to say this.

I know you want to know the answer, but I can’t tell you why someone wants to say it or what their intentions might be. It’s not as though God is some person that they know personally. The word God is one of those terms that can mean many things to many different people and it is not as though everyone knows what the definition of the term means.
